Is Love So Small a Pain
This adaptation of the classic Greek tragedy Medea is an interactive, immersive theatre experience, telling the story of Medea, a former princess/powerful sorceress, from her perspective. Her husband, Jason, has abandoned Medea and their two sons to marry King Creon’s daughter. Afraid of Medea’s future interference, Creon banishes her and her children; however, not before giving Medea the opening she needs to enact plans for survival. This piece is dedicated to survivors, and aims to shine a light on domestic abuse and those still haunted by their experiences. Our adaptation was was inspired by the resilience and courage of the survivors we worked with during the Salvia workshop in the spring of 2021.
